Talk Title: Molecular determinants of tuberculosis disease outcomes

Abstract: Mycobacterium tuberculosisis the deadliest pathogen in the world and there is a dire need for better tools to prevent, treat, and diagnose these infections. This talk will describe recent molecular dissection of how host how immune cells can both protect and promote M. tuberculosis pathogenesis, including via processes involving chromatin remodeling. The talk will also discuss how this information can be leveraged to design new host-directed therapies to treat tuberculosis.

Host: Dr. Susan Dutcher
