: I will present our most recent work using long-read sequencing t
echnologies to sequence hundreds of human and non-human ape genomes more co
mpletely at the population genetic\, familial\, and evolutionary level. Th
e work has led to the discovery of more complex forms of structural variati
on mapping to segmental duplications\, acrocentric regions\, and centromere
s with the potential for new genetic disease associations and insights into
adaptive mutations important for human evolution.

Host:</str
