Expanding mechanisms and therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative disease

Hosted by:  Dr. Jeffrey Milbrandt
In-person only:  Connor Auditorium (FLTC)

Talk abstract:  Human neurodegenerative diseases are associated with the accumulation of protein aggregates. I will describe recent efforts using genetic modifier screens in model systems and human genetics to define the mechanisms by which misfolded human disease proteins contribute to neurodegeneration. These studies have revealed new targets for therapeutic intervention.
