“Integration of Molecular Epidemiology and Imaging: Interdisciplinary Approach to Understanding the Pathogenesis of B reast Cancer”
Tamimi will share data examining circulating biomarkers \, tissue markers and radiologic features in relation to breast cancer risk . Using data from the Nurses’ Health Studies\, her group examines the asso ciation between lifestyle factors and molecular markers to better understan d how these influence risk of breast cancer. Looking at novel mammographic features related to breast cancer risk\, she demonstrates that incorporatin g germline genetics\, circulating hormones and mammographic density into ri sk prediction models significantly improves breast cancer risk prediction.< /p>
