“Integration of Molecular Epidemiology and Imaging: Interdisciplinary Approach to Understanding the Pathogenesis of Breast Cancer”

Tamimi will share data examining circulating biomarkers, tissue markers and radiologic features in relation to breast cancer risk.  Using data from the Nurses’ Health Studies, her group examines the association between lifestyle factors and molecular markers to better understand how these influence risk of breast cancer. Looking at novel mammographic features related to breast cancer risk, she demonstrates that incorporating germline genetics, circulating hormones and mammographic density into risk prediction models significantly improves breast cancer risk prediction.
