“Living Well and Optimizing Care after Breast Cancer: Supporting Women with Early-Stage and Metastatic Breast Cancer with Diet and Physical Activity”

Evidence associates physical inactivity and excess body weight with poor outcomes in women with early-stage breast cancer, and some studies support weight loss interven-tions following treatment, however limited evidence is available on the broader benefits of such interventions. Moreover, women diagnosed with stage IV or metastatic breast cancer are mostly excluded from these studies, so no recommendations exist regarding physical activity, diet, or weight management. This presentation will provide an over-view of Dr. Reeves’ research on diet and physical activity in women with early-stage and women with metastatic breast cancer.
